1. Aerospace industry
Aerospace is considered to be a broad scope of the study, and India has a larger market to tap into. It has excellent potential and is one of the developing industries of all time. There has been an influx of FDI( foreign direct investment). The civil aviation market has seen a more significant increase, and due to the constant supply of different aircraft, commercial and defense included. The government is trying to research and develop domestic products by attracting world-leading companies in aerospace. There have been new startups that have been paving their way into India like Team Indus, which is one of the famous Indian startups, which is renowned for developing the world’s first private moon mission. This is also the only company that attends Google’s Google’s x-prize mission.
2. Automotive industries
The automotive industry is booming in India. Mechanical engineers usually have a lot of scope in this field as it involves a lot of designing parts and machinery. Automobile Industry is a humongous sector and one of the essential products in every human’s life as without communication, no work is possible. The automobile industry keeps on changing drastically, every day as new technology arrives and therefore one who did mechanical engineering has to keep themselves updated with the current situation. The industry will soon see a decline in the automobiles run with fossil fuels. This doesn’t mean that the industry will die. It will now work smarter than before trying to find alternative and cleaner energy options to utilize to run automobiles. Gen-Z prefers more eco-friendly options, and this is an expectation from the future generations as well. There are new power generating stations that are being installed all across the country to meet the energy demands. This particular industry has significant importance in the present scenario and will continue to play an essential role in power development for the years to come. 6. Steel plants
As per the 2016 reports, India stood as the third-largest steel producer. The demand for steel never goes down. It is mainly due to the availability of the raw material. The raw materials required to produce steel is available domestically in high numbers. It has been continuously growing as steel products are used in every other industry right from making rockets to mending tools. Due to its vast scope, mechanical engineers can opt for this industry. The job role varies depending on what the requirement is. It can be in production or the maintenance section of the manufacturing unit.
7. Robotics industry
Robotics is the current technological innovation in which many of the industries are investing a lot of time and resources. This industry needs mechanical engineers to work on various automation tasks. Engineers alone can find cost-effective and time-saving methods to get jobs done. The industry expects them to contribute in terms of logistics and assignments in automated assembly plants. Robotics make life simpler by cutting down a lot of manual work which is essential in many industries and thus there is no looking back when you take up action in this field. So for a mechanical engineer with a decent knowledge of electronics/ software has a lot of scope on getting acquainted with this fantastic technology.
